Post 6: How can your mayor make the world a better place?

I think my mayor,  Biochemistry can make the world a better place for two reasons

One is the knowledge that gives understand how the differents biochemists mechanisms work in living things: animals or plants, including human, even smaller things like viruses. If we do not understand how organisms work on a cellular scale, we will not be able to produce new treatments against diseases. 

And the other thing is the role that a biochemist, or any scientist, can play in our society, sharing his knowledge in a clear and concise way on controversial issues, being a scientific divulger focused on the vast majority of people or being part of the politic. 

Thanks to the work of different scientists, including biochemists, it has been possible to create a solution against the epidemic we are experiencing, with vaccines being the solution.

I think many of us enter this mayor not only to know more about how the world works, but also to try to help with something.
